Actuality and anticipation

There is something here that I wonder about. For example, much of sex is an anticipation, the actuality of which prompts more anticipation, and so it is with love and all things. I am wondering about the connection between the relation anticipation and actuality and the relation appearance and reality. Could it be that reality is simply the occurrence -- the actuality -- and appearance the condition simply of the anticipation of occurrence?
