I work as an independent philosopher and devote my time to research, writing, philosophical debate, counselling and practical philosophy. Over the years, I have been involved in various practical applications of philosophy. Using philosophy, I have helped many people understand what their lives can offer. My own philosophy combines an existentialist view that we have a personal need to take action for which we accept responsibility, with a belief in a reality beyond that which we presently experience. I hold that, as individuals, we need to open up to elements of a Change/Meaning/Freedom (to choose)/Action/How to Act sequence. I am a committed believer in the practical uses of philosophy. Look at my Thoughts and Reflections, Seeking the Philosophical Life and Exchanging the Word to find out more about what I think. I hold two degrees in Philosophy (BA Hons London, PhD London), a degree in Theology (MPhil Nottingham), a Certificate in Education (Birmingham) and qualifications in counselling and Philosophical counselling. I am a member of the Society for Philosophy in Practice (SPP) and am on their register of counsellors. My philosophical publications include: Editor, S.V. Keeling, Time and Duration (Lewiston, New York, Edwin Mellen Press, 1991) The Life and Philosophy of J.McT.E.
